Life is changing...

...our baby is crawling and it's rocking our world!   In a good, fun way, of course! :)

About a month ago he learned how to go from sitting to crawling position and would spend a lot of his day rocking back and forth on his hands and knees.

Then, about 3 weeks ago he began to scoot around--he could only go backwards though and would often scoot himself away from where he was trying to go.  He couldn't go more than 2-3 feet, but he was becoming mobile and began to scoot himself into little places like this!

He then became a pro at reaching and stretching and kinda lunging himself forward to get to where he wanted to be--and things became a little more fun. :)
Then, a week ago Monday (2/13), while I was at my Bible study, he crawled for the first time while he was hanging out with his daddy!  I got to see a little video and he crawled a little for me before we went to bed that night, but Landon said he did it three or four times while I was gone.  He'd been so close for so long, and we'd been helping him figure it out some, but he finally put it all together and was able to move his arms and his legs together!   The next day he was doing a combination of crawling/scooting/lunging all morning and managed to get himself under our dining room table at one point.  He was SO proud of himself.  Sweet little boy.
For the last week and a half, he's been doing some crawling, but nothing too crazy and definitely not on demand.  He'd also scoot around a lot, but just within a 2-3 foot radius.  And always into your lap, if you were sitting on the floor, which I love.  Sometimes he'd crawl and sometimes he'd do this thing where he'd get up on his hands and knees and lung himself forward--we called it his inchworm.  It's cute.  But today, it's like something clicked and he began really crawling.  He crawled across the living room to the power cords.  He crawled across the bathroom floor to the little bit of something he spotted on the floor.  Then, he reached up and almost pulled my hair dryer down on himself.  It's like he realized he can get places and get things he wants by crawling and decided it was time to go places and get the things he wants!  I'm thinking it's time to baby proof.  :)

And, as if figuring out how to crawl some longer distances wasn't enough for one day, Aedan also discovered he could pull himself up from crawling to standing.  Oh my.  Life is about to change for us!  Sweet Aedan--we're so proud of you and love to see you loving your new found freedom! :)

Isn't it crazy how fast they change!? I bet you are so proud... and if it were me I'd be a little scared! Maybe I better start baby proofing now so I'm prepared for this stage!
